GoMoorhead.com was looking for a High Tech office area, something that incorporated our corporate colors and expressed the uniqueness of our business. Christianson’s Business Furniture was able to achieve our goals, from design, to fixtures, to the paint and carpet. They were professional, timely and courteous to work with.
In December we purchased an existing building that was in need of extensive repairs and was also not quite configured the way we would have liked. Couple that with the age old dilemma of trying to anticipate future needs and need for flexibility, we were faced with a clear strategy of trying to make this building work for us now and years ahead.
As in the past, we contacted Christianson’s Business Furniture to talk about our options, thinking that option only being the dreaded cubical and the like. Our total design/remodel ideas changed once we walked through their showroom. With the LifeSpace modular offices and conferencing areas they use, we saw the fresh idea of utilizing modular office components to provide offices and work space. This clearly was giving us the flexibility to save on initial remodeling costs, giving us more future options, and providing us with a 7-year depreciable life verses 39-1/2 year depreciable life on these substantial renovation costs.
The design staff was with us each step of the way providing CAD layout drawings, utilization of existing furniture and fixed pricing so we knew our total costs up front. I am sorry to say we couldn’t do modular offices in every part of the building, but where we did use it we are not only extremely happy, but feel comfortable that no matter how our business model might change, we have the flexibility to change and provide attractive and functional work environments for our staff.
I know that any future construction or remodeling I take on will include a component of modular offices; it just makes good sense.
